Using the Head-up Display (HUD)
What is the HUD?
The HUD - short for Head-up Display - gives you real-time information about your opponents, directly on the poker tables while you play.

Using the HUD
When Poker Copilot is running, you can start the HUD by switching to any poker room window.
Yoou should see the HUD control panel appear in the top-right hand corner of the window:

This indicates that Poker Copilot doesn't yet have any data for the table. You need to play at least one hand at a table for the HUD to start showing information. When it does, this is what you'll see:

This shows that:
- My VPiP rate - short for voluntarily put money in the pot - is 16%
- My PFR rate - short for pre-flop raise - is 14%
- My Agg rate - short for aggression frequency - is 54%
Clicking on a HUD player panel shows you many more statistics for a player. It also shows you the meanings of the abbreviations:

In the HUD popup, you can see numbers in grey, such as 5/27 next to Flops Seen. This shows you how the statistic is calculated: You've seen the flop 5 times out of 27 opportunities
Why is the HUD sometimes yellow and sometimes grey?
The statistics for a player are shown at first in grey. As Poker Copilot collects more data for a player, the statistics will get brighter. Once you've encountered the player at least 25 times, the statistics will switch to yellow. Statistics in shades of grey should be used with caution because the sample size is too small to give a reliable picture. Once the statistics hit the full brightness and switch to yellow, you can trust the statistics more.
Changing the HUD window positions
You can move HUD windows around to wherever you want. Simply drag the HUD window to where you want. Poker Copilot remembers the location and uses it again in the future.
Hold down the Cmd (⌘) key while moving a window to prevent the detailed statistics panel from being display.
Why am I not seeing the HUD?
Are you using the latest Poker Copilot update?
Make sure you are using the latest Poker Copilot update. You can download it here: http://pokercopilot.com/download.html
Is the poker room table completely uncovered?
In Poker Copilot 2 the HUD only shows if the poker room table is completely uncovered. If you have a detached chat window partly covering your window, the HUD won't show.
Is your poker room software in English?
For 100% reliability you must ensure that you are using PokerStars or Full Tilt Poker in English.
Is PokerStars/Full Tilt set to write hand histories in English?
This is worth double-checking, as poker room software updates can reset some your settings.
Do you see the HUD control panel?
Try hiding all windows except for one poker room table. In the top right hand corner of the table, do you see the Poker Copilot HUD controls, as per this screenshot?

If you can see "No HUD data", that's a good sign.
The next step is to check that your poker room software is saving your hand history files and Poker Copilot is finding them, as follows:
Is Full Tilt configured for the HUD?
Step 1: Follow these instructions to configure Full Tilt.
Step 2: Go to the Poker Copilot Preferences (in the "Poker Copilot" menu) and click on the plus sign. Find the folder with your hand histories from step 1, and add it to Poker Copilot. This folder is normally [your home folder]/Documents/HandHistory
Is PokerStars configured for the HUD?
Step 1: Follow these instructions to configure PokerStars.
Step 2: Go to the Poker Copilot Preferences (in the "Poker Copilot" menu) and click on the plus sign. Find the folder with your hand histories from step 1, and add it to Poker Copilot. This folder is normally [your home folder]/Library/Application Support/PokerStars/HandHistory
Still no HUD?
The next step is this: in the Poker Copilot menu, select "Head-up Display" -> "Head-up Display Diagnostics". Please take a screenshot of this screen and send it to support@pokercopilot.com, with a brief note saying that you are having HUD problems.
(You can take a screenshot by pressing [Cmd/⌘] + [Shift] + 3. The screenshot is saved to your desktop.)
Customising the Poker Copilot HUD
You can customise the HUD using the Poker Copilot Preferences.

Select up to twelve statistics to show onscreen.
Turning off "Statistic labels" is useful if you want to make your HUD panels as compact as possible.
Turning off "Resize HUD panels" ensures that the HUD panels are always shown at the same size, instead being sized proportional to the poker room table window.
"Full brightness threshold" indicates the number of hands at which a player's HUD panel switches from grey to yellow.
How are the table statistics calculated
VPiP is the average "Voluntarily put money in pot" of the players currently sitting at the table, including you. If there are 4 players at the table, with VPiP equal to 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%, then the average is calcuated as:
average VPiP = (10 + 20 + 30 + 40)/4 = 100/4 = 25%
PFR is the average "Preflop raised" of the players currently sitting at the table, including you.
Agg is the average "Aggression" of the players currently sitting at the table, including you.
If any player doesn't have yet have a value defined for one of these three stats, then that player is omitted from the calculation for that stat.
